Fathers

We spent a great day celebrating some really wonderful fathers.  We are so blessed to have all of these men in our lives.

Dancing

Everybody loves a dancing baby.  Nice to see our little boy joining in on the dancing fun! I think he gets his moves from Scott ;)

10 months

Happy, happy, happy, little guy.  Walking on his own more and more, but still prefers the faster mode of crawling.  His crawl has evolved to kind of a half-sit, one knee up, scoot across the room that is remarkably fast and allows him to crawl while carrying something in his hands.  Has stood up from a squat a couple of times this week.  Showing that he knows several words, like daddy, mommy, grandpa, Millie, Merrill, bus, window (he loves to look out the window), and maybe kitty and dog (and their accompanying animal sounds).  Waves 'hi' and 'bye'.  Signs 'milk'.  Loves to look at his 'picture dictionary' and be told the words.  Points at anything and everything, which sometimes means, 'take me over there and talk to me about that' and sometimes means 'heeeey!'  Loves to be outside, loves to be anywhere his sisters are, and is not afraid to jump right into the middle of any 'rough' play.  Still hasn't taken to eating, but did test out several small bites of the chocomole we had for dessert tonight (avocado based chocolate pudding -- might as well start them out right!) -- hence the messy face above.  Brings us such joy and happiness with his smiles, which he gives out every time he catches your eye.  We just love him to pieces.

Eating a Rainbow

Millie prepared dinner for the family tonight.  Her "Millie's Rainbow Dinner" was inspired by a dinner that I made last week -- Rainbow Quinoa -- which she did not think was up to muster.  She was pretty certain she  could make a better rainbow dinner.  I have to admit, it was both a pretty dinner and a wonderfully satisfying meal (and bonus, they happily ate it up!).

Millie was eager to start her meal, as you can see from the green bits of peas in her teeth ;)
Teddy played with a few peas and corn but preferred a spatula

Carnival

We were lucky enough to be invited to a friend's house today to go to a carnival with them (which was being held as a fundraiser at the school across the street).  The girls were so excited to go and it lived up to everyone of their expectations.  They LOVED it.  They rode every ride they could with no fear (and only cried on the rides where they couldn't both sit next to their friend... fortunately she was willing to ride everything multiple times so they could take turns sitting next to her).  Teddy was enthralled with the whole thing especially the carousel.  Luckily that was the one ride he could go on!  The girls are already planning their return trip next year.  Thanks Auntie B!

so excited!
