ABC's
This is Merrill's favorite song right now -- she REALLY wants to be able to sing along and does pretty good getting the tune :)

{Three}
I can't believe Millie turns three today. Why does three seem so old? Even Millie seems to know three carries more responsibility with it than two as she asked if we could just pretend she was still two this morning when I told her she was three (maybe because she knows she's been promising to poop on the potty when she turns three...).
We started the day right with lots of hugs and snuggles and chorus' of "Happy Birthday" then Millie and I headed out for a special birthday breakfast. Millie enjoyed a big breakfast and a cup of tea :). Then we headed to her school for her birthday celebration there. They have a nice tradition of having the parents bring in a poster with pictures of the child and the story of their life to read to the children. The birthday child walks around a candle representing the sun while carrying a globe for each year of their life while the teacher lights a candle for each year. Then they sing happy birthday and the child gets to snuff out the candles. It's really very sweet to watch and be a part of. It was so wonderful to get to see Millie in the school environment for a little while and to see her eyes light up every time she caught mine. She was so proud and happy and I know she felt very special -- just as she should on this very special day.

Let the Celebration Begin!
Millie got her first birthday present today. I'd say it was a pretty big hit with both girls! It all started with the horse that Merrill is on above and turned into a weekend project for my dad and Scott. Thanks so much for building such an awesome swing set!! The celebration will continue on Thursday when our Millie Moo turns three on into Saturday when she has her party. What a fun week!

Fall Fun
We've enjoyed lots of fun outside this weekend. It still isn't quite sweater weather here yet (though I've been bound and determined to wear them anyway), but still too nice to be inside for long. The girls and I ventured over to Lauren's yesterday for a walk to the park where there was lots of climbing. swinging and digging in the dirt to be done. Later that evening Lauren and Jason came to our house for a yummy dinner of potato pizzas and some time around the fire pit. The girls were more interested in playing with shaving cream and digging in the dirt than watching the fire.

| Millie thought the shaving cream was pretty great. It didn't stay on the tray long... |
| Love this picture of LoLo and Jason -- you can see the love :) |

This morning we headed out to Castlewood state park to enjoy a short hike and more play time. The girls did a great job hiking up the big hill and enjoyed the view at the top. They also enjoyed all of the rocks and leaves they found along the way. After the hike we headed over to the playground -- time to get dirty!
