Outside

Thanks to a much needed break in the weather, which just happened to coincide with Teddy's birth (and by "break" I mean out of the 100's, though we're still in the 90's....) we've been able to get outside a little more.  Few things make the girls happier.

Sporty Millie.  We bought this outfit for soccer camp early in the summer and then she refused to wear it once we got it home because the shirt was too long.  Last week she decided it was okay and she could just bunch the shirt up at her waist instead of pulling it all the way down.  Ah girls.  At least I know she'll be able to wear it next summer too!

 Taking a break

Even Teddy is content when he is outside :) (though at this point, he's pretty much content anywhere...)

What's for Dinner?

We've been very fortunate the past couple of weeks to have family and friends bring us meals or invite us to dinner. On one of the few nights our first week home when we didn't pull a pre-made dinner out of the fridge, Millie cooked dinner for us.  Circle potatoes, zucchini (excellently sliced by Millie herself) and "chicken" fingers.  She was very proud of her meal and we all enjoyed it very much!

Last Day of Summer

Scott took the girls to the Magic House last Tuesday for their last day of summer (and our first full day home as a family of 5).  As usual, the girls had a blast!  What a wonderful place to have so close by!

Homecoming

A few pictures from Teddy's homecoming and his first 24 hours at home

Dreams

So, I thought the crazy dreams ended with the end of pregnancy, but apparently not.  Last night, as I dozed between feeding Teddy and trying to convince Merrill that 4:30 did not constitute "morning" and she needed to go back to sleep I had a doozy.

We were at my parents house celebrating my sister's birthday (which we are doing on Sunday, so it was couched in reality at least...) and my brother, Christian, was holding Teddy in the family room.  I went in and Teddy smiled and had a full mouth of teeth!  I was amazed that I hadn't noticed that he was born with all of his teeth for a whole week.  My aunts Barb and Sandi were there (Patti, you must have been at Ben and Leslie's :) ) and the fact that they saw it too made it true. So we've got a one-week old baby with a full toothy grin who THEN tries to stand up and walk.  But of course he can't 'cause he's only a week old and he falls forward onto his belly.  This doesn't hurt him because he's less than 20 inches from the ground ... THEN he starts to army crawl across the floor, even crawling over an obstacle in his way!

Yeaaaah...

Some possible interpretations...

My niece, Peyton is hitting or close to hitting all of the above milestones; teeth, crawling, walking and my sister, mom and I talk about that a lot so perhaps I was just superimposing her accomplishments onto Teddy.

OR I am keenly aware how quickly this time with Teddy as a newborn is going to pass.  As a third and last time mom I know this time is not just a metaphorical blink of the eye and that it will be gone and past before I know it and Teddy will be approaching and passing all of those milestones.  You can believe I will be soaking up every moment of newborn goodness that I can in the next few weeks.

OR I need more sleep :).

On that note, I'm headed to bed!  Sweet dreams!

Teddy Love
