Making Me Smile This Week

Millie insisted on buying corn on the cob last week and got to enjoy it this weekend.  She cleaned that cob!

More 60 + degree days to end the month of January giving us lots of reasons to play in the park.  In 20-50 years when St. Louis is in the middle of the ocean due to global warming I may not be looking back on these days so fondly, but for now I'm enjoying them :).

Winter Reprieve

We took advantage of another mild and sunny winter day yesterday and walked to a neighborhood park with my sister and Peyton.  It's cold, rainy and dreary again today ...  Can't complain too much though given how many days like yesterday we've had.

All in a Week's Time

Our winter has been exceptionally mild this year (knock on wood...).  Last Tuesday we headed over to my parents house to play outside -- we didn't even need jackets it was so nice!  Of course, then on Thursday winter finally decided to grace us with her presence and we got a little bit of snow and some rather chilly temperatures.  Millie wanted to go sledding at Grandpa's as soon as she saw the snow, so after school that day we headed out to find some snow pants for her (a surprisingly hard task given it's only JANUARY and stores really don't need to have SWIMSUITS out!!).  We succeeded in finding the snow pants as well as early Valentine's outfits and headed over to my parents.  Unfortunately, it was just too cold and windy to venture out that day. Fortunately, the girls were happily distracted by getting to wear their new outfits.  We did manage to get them out this past Saturday to do a little sledding before the snow melted away.  And today, it's close to 60 again and they are back out playing without jackets.  It's going to be an interesting winter .... I'm hoping it doesn't turn into an interesting (read tornado filled) spring!  Here are some pictures of our time outside the past week:

not much snow left, but we managed to find one hill with just enough
