We headed out to the cabin again this past weekend after seeing that our calendar was mostly empty (we've got a slew of birthday parties and other events coming up in the next few weeks and then it's back to school time already!). There were lots of fun activities going on that we got the chance to participate in and everyone had a great time. We participated in the sand sculpture contest, (but ended up "skipping" the rock skipping contest so we would have time for dinner), end to a concert at the farm house where the girls enjoyed running around and everyone enjoyed listening to the band, played at the beach, watched the cardboard boat races (we may have to do some advanced planning next year so we can build our own boat!), played in the cabin and generally just enjoyed a little down time. First up -- pictures from the sand sculpture contest!
Teddy's first time at the beach
He 'dug' right in!
I love Teddy in the background eating sand... we only had to clean his mouth out a couple of times ;)
The "Pink Fairies" hard at work building their sand sculpture
Notice Millie found a way to get in the water ... in her clothes ... all the way. She was "looking for seashells" for their scultpure
Merrill was in charge of keeping the moat and lake full -- turned out this was a very pivotal feature in their sculpture!
Starting to come together
The proud team
the finished product -- the bridge and palm trees got lots of praise from on-lookers
time to play in the sand during the judging
and their award -- best water engineering!
