Millie continues to love reading, which is a blessing because I know when we are all getting cranky and antsy I can say "go grab a book" and we can all happily cuddle on the couch and read together. (Merrill is a little wiggly sometimes, but she asks for books just as much as Millie these days). In fact they both insist on being read to at breakfast, lunch and snacks.
Proving you can be a pretty princess AND intellectual :)
Millie's current favorite genre of books: mysteries. Richard Scary ones are her favorite, but we've also read some "Nate the Great" and "The Mystery at the Club Sandwich." All of this means that we also play detective a lot. Apparently detectives wear glasses ....
There is no doubt though that Millie REALLY loves all things fashion too. Here is one recent purchase from a local resale shop (the best way to keep up with her fashion desires):
she was SO excited to get a long skirt that can trail behind her on the stairs
The MOST exciting thing we've done in the past few weeks was host a baby sex reveal party for my sister this past Monday. Millie decided to get extra fancy for the party and curl her hair.
she didn't seem to mind the curlers too much, but I don't think she'll agree to sleep in them like I did as a child!
The baby pre-reveal. Lauren put on the diaper prior to the party and then made the big reveal after dinner with our family and Jason's. We are super excited to meet baby Ick in December. You can find out if the diaper was pink or blue on Lauren's blog if you haven't read about it yet :)
Obviously, the girls really enjoyed the cake...
yes, Millie is attempting to lick the frosting off of Merrill's face. Only sisters ...
And that pretty much brings us to today. Millie heads back to pre-school in just 1 1/2 weeks and we head to Colorado for a family vacation a couple of weeks after that. It's hard to believe that the summer is coming to an end.
Congrats to Lauren and Jason, how nice.
