Leaps and Bounds

It's amazing how fast babies grow! When they were born, Millie and Maddie the Monkey were about the same size. Millie has since grown by leaps and bounds and is noticeably bigger than Maddie now. Officially, as of Monday morning, Millie is 7 lbs. 2 oz. and 20 3/4 inches long. Unbelievable! I'm particularly blown away by the fact that she grew almost 2 inches in 2 weeks! Of course, she has also straightened out quite a bit, so that might have something to do with the measurements.

Millie has had a great couple of days. Monday was our trip to the Dr.'s office. We got to be one of the first patients in the practice's new office. Very nice. It was Millie's first ride in the car without Mommy in the back with her. She didn't like that very much. Fortunately the Dr.'s is less than 10 minutes away. Once we were at the Dr.'s, Millie was a perfect angel girl. No crying or fussing the whole time -- expect a few tears when she got a shot, but I can't blame her for that one and she calmed down fast once she was in mama's arms. Millie slept in the car ride home after all the excitement :).

Yesterday Millie and I hung out at home and took a nice walk in the afternoon with Millie's new sling wrap. She liked the sling -- it let her ride tummy to tummy with mommy -- and slept through the whole walk.

Today it's Mommy's turn to go to the Dr. for a check up. Millie will come along for the ride. We are also planning on going to see Daddy at work for lunch, so that should be fun. Millie has already had a bath in preparation for her big day and is now napping :). Now Mommy just has to finish getting ready and we'll be set to join the rest of the world!
