We couldn't have asked for a more laid-back, fun-filled weekend with wonderful people. We spent time hanging out at the house with lots of playtime, music, books, and a couple of movies for the grown-ups (Ruby Sparks -- not such a great movie, and Catfish -- a very interesting documentary (faux documentary?) that has popped up in the media lately due to the internet dating scam suffered by a college football player (whose name I am not going to attempt to remember/spell...), seriously, I was exhausted Saturday night but could not pull myself away from the movie it was so fascinating); walking around downtown and exploring sculptures, the cultural center, restaurants and an awesome used bookstore (open books) and just enjoying each others company. The kids all got along amazingly well (it can be a risk throwing kids who don't really know each other together in close quarters for a whole weekend, but there were absolutely no skirmishes -- it was pretty amazing). Though Merrill had a bit of a rough time of it (she fell and got a sizable bump on the back of her head Saturday while at lunch, she developed an increasingly bad cold complete with stuffy nose and cough and a fever once we reached home today, and got [accidentally] hit in the face with a hockey stick on Sunday resulting in an even MORE sizable lump and bruise on her forehead). Despite all of that, she still had a great time and came home saying the best part was playing with Tavi. Poor girl. Get ready for lots of pictures -- can you tell we are enjoying our new camera?

Saturday night the kids attempted a "camp out" in Tavi's room. They did pretty well and were all asleep before 8:00 (after the girls requested that I come lie with them), but by 3:00 in the morning not one of them was left in there -- in fact Scott ended up in there about that time!

can you see the bump starting to form? Ouch! We think she may have taken the hockey stick across the cheek too as it's been a bit red and puffy since ... She was a trooper though and, I'm told, screamed more when Scott and Bob tried to put ice on the bump than when she actually got hit!
Teddy Really enjoyed the piano -- so did Merrill. I think a piano is officially on my wish list for the house...
More books -- I love all of the expressions in this picture! They speak volumes!
Ending our visit by snuggling on the couch and finishing up their movie from the night before (Jungle book) -- a little tired, but happy to be together even after two days. We've already been asked by the girls when we are going back :).
