Lauren was sweet enough to organize a gathering at a local park to celebrate Scott's and my birthdays last Tuesday. It was a food truck night at the park and a band was playing. It was a hot night, and there was a lot of chasing children around in-between (small) bits of adult conversation, but we were so thankful that our friends and family made it out for the night to help us celebrate our birthdays that it was worth all the rest. Maybe next year we'll plan an adult evening out though ... gotta work on getting ourselves a reliable babysitter (who is not related to us) and encouraging our friends and family to do the same :).
The kids certainly had fun though -- a splash pad, swings, a big playground, food trucks, music, and cupcakes. Life doesn't get better than when you're a kid.
