Weekends

Have I mentioned that we've all been living for the weekends around here?  The number of people craving family time around here is pretty high these days.  This past weekend was good for that as was the weekend before.  The weekend before last we went to a tea party to celebrate a little friend's birthday, the girls tried out for a dance performance through their dance studio, and then we went for a walk around our downtown stopping for some ice cream, time at a playground, and a little sale shopping for me.  Sunday morning the boys went for haircuts and then we all met up at the local park for our town's annual festival.  We played on the playground, walked around the 'folk' area, learned a lot about wheat weaving, tried stilt walking, and the girls scored some nice doll accessories. The afternoon was filled with quiet time at home with lots of play time for the kids and cooking time for Scott and I.  So nice.

A little nervous for their tryout -- no need to be for this one, everyone got a part :).  They are both going to be 'kangaroos' in the Carnival of Animals this fall :)

a late summer trip to the Custard Shack after walking around town made for a pretty nice evening

I snuck down to a clothing boutique while Scott took the kids to a nearby playground.  I scored two dresses and a necklace for $21!  Woo Hoo!

Fun at the Greentree Festival -- we learned a LOT about wheat from this woman :)

We all attempted the stilts, but none of us mastered it...

Only four more days until the next weekend!
